Mauna Loa is the world's largest active subaerial volcano and the principal attraction of the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. It forms the Big Island of Hawai'i and has a length of 120km and a width of 103km. It has three pit craters, two rift zones, and a summit caldera with a volume of 75,000 cubic kilometers. It has erupted 33 times since 1843, the latest in 1984.
